Robert is a passionate and experienced natural scientist working to combat the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities around the world. His approach to sustainable development and community resilience has been shaped by the incredible diversity of people he has engaged with throughout his professional career. A central focus arising from his experience has been on the interactions between communities and the environments surrounding them, with a specific interest in ecosystem services, water security, disaster risk reduction, and sustainable livelihoods. Over his career, Robert has engaged in over 80 climate change-related projects involving innovative, multidisciplinary approaches to sustainable development. The projects have engaged with themes of integrated land and water resource management, nature-based solutions, innovative finance, and disaster risk reduction. Robert is also a member of the Technical Reference Group for the Continental Africa Water Investment Programme.
