Carol Mwape Zulu

Carol’s career in environment and natural resource management spans over 25 years starting as a Research Forester and becoming Zambia’s first Chief Climate Change Officer. She is now serving as Commonwealth National Climate Finance Adviser hosted in the Ministry of Environment Forestry and Tourism of Namibia. Carol holds a Master of Environmental Management and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. Other previous work includes that of Environmental and Social Inclusion Manager in Zambia’s Pilot Programme for Climate Resilience. Carol represented the Least Developed Countries on the Transitional Committee for the design of the Green Climate Fund and later served as Adviser to the LDCs GCF Board Member. To date, Carol has assisted Namibia to access over USD 2milion and is currently supporting four local organizations in Namibia towards accreditation with the GCF. Carol loves nature, is passionate about gardening, loves dogs and likes reading crime and legal thriller books. She believes in empowering the future generation for leadership and is currently mentoring 15 young Zambians in environment and climate change.
